Julep Maven......to join or not to join

So yesterday I finally received my introductory Julep Maven box. It was shipped out on the 15th from Seattle, WA area and took 12 days (5 more than listed on my shipping email) but being that i have a horrible problem with constantly checking tracking numbers and waiting for packages, I calmed down and opened my new pretty black box.
The packaging was really cute as were the color choices for the "Bombshell" box. I received Madison (a beautiful hot pink color) and Oscar (a gold glitter). I am wondering who else thought of an Odd Couple character as I did. Seemed fitting with how messy they were :)
Included in the package was a mani/pedi mint lotion (full sized) and a foil packet sample of a warming foot scrub.....Not going to lie, this was my favorite thing in the box and I wish they had given me that as a full size and the lotion as a sample. When you rub the scrub into your skin it created an immediate warming sensation which is great for me, seeing as I spend a lot of time on my feet as a server. The lotion was eh. I've had other foot lotions and this one seemed a little thinner and the smell was a mixture of mint and chemicals.
Now onto the polishes. The packaging is super cute on these. I was excited to get these puppies opened and try them out. AS you can see from the video below, I was not happy with the consistency of these polishes. It was watery! i opened one and literally it dribbled out of the bottle and onto my hand, and rubbed off fairly easy. i decided to give it a try anyways and applied it to my toes. It literally took about 3 or 4 coats to not be see through. Eventually I gave up and put the Oscar polish as a clear coat over my big toes. Also the smell! I can normally paint my nails with ZERO complaints from the Grump, not this time.
All In all, This polish reminded me of kids polish. I do NOT plan on keeping this subscription, I didn't find that I was getting a great value for 19.99 a month. You are more than welcome to try for yourself

  1. Also if you use the code FREEBOX you can get your first box for only 3.99 (shipping charges) and maybe try a different "personality" polish
