Vitamins, Excersise, and Goals

The time has come again to join the battle of the bulge! I've always had a love hate relationship with my scale, usually hate. I've always been slightly overweight except for those couple of years in my late 20s where i decided eating nothing was better for me than anything. After losing a couple of teeth, hair, and everything else, I finally accepted that a weight of 100 pounds was not in for me and began the work of trying to gain back some meat onto my bones.

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED, although a bit too well. Now I'm back to looking like a pillsbury can busted at the seams and need to get back into a healthy shape. Thanks to Influenster, i received a free sample of Garcinia Cambogia which is a vitamin to help suppress your appetite. It definitely is working!! I no longer feel the need to snack all day at work, and when I do eat my meals, I'm full alot faster than before! YAY!!!
I've also decided I need to start doing the squat and ab challenges again. I gave up on the ab challenge before but I've got to push through or else i will end up clutching my chest within the next 10 years. Ain't nobody got time for that!!! Wish me luck!!!

Influenster.....thoughts

So I received the influenster Goodlife Voxbox on Tuesday and thought I would post some of my initial thoughts on the items I have tried

New Skin liquid bandage : Having a boyfriend who works as an irrigation specialist, I'm familiar with all the little cuts he gets on his hand from fitting pipes together and such. he is also a guitar player which means these little cuts hinder his movements when he tries to pick or run his fingers along the fret board. So we tried this out yesterday. He was IMPRESSED!!! It completely sealed the cut and he didn't even realize he had one any longer! Great Job New Skin!!!!

Nonni's ThinAddictives: These were not a win at all. It tasted like stale bread. The weird contrast of chewy and crunchy was not something I look for in a company who makes amazing biscotti!

the last thing I tried was the Garcinia Cambogia from VitaminShoppe: Definitely curbed my appetite! I took them yesterday morning and had no appetite until about 3pm, so i ate something small. I took them again right before I started preparing dinner. When I ate i wasn't extremely hungry and I was left with a huge bloated feeling the rest of the evening (even though I greatly reduced my normal dinner portion). I can see this working for me personally but I am concerned that taking them i won't get enough to meet the daily intake you are required to have to live. I will continue taking these and update!

So 2 out of 3 items I have tried out of this box so far are a win. I still have the UrgentRx headache medication and the ZonePerfect bar to sample hopefully I am also pleased :)

I received these products complimentary for testing purposes from Influenster.

Julep Maven......to join or not to join

So yesterday I finally received my introductory Julep Maven box. It was shipped out on the 15th from Seattle, WA area and took 12 days (5 more than listed on my shipping email) but being that i have a horrible problem with constantly checking tracking numbers and waiting for packages, I calmed down and opened my new pretty black box.
The packaging was really cute as were the color choices for the "Bombshell" box. I received Madison (a beautiful hot pink color) and Oscar (a gold glitter). I am wondering who else thought of an Odd Couple character as I did. Seemed fitting with how messy they were :)
Included in the package was a mani/pedi mint lotion (full sized) and a foil packet sample of a warming foot scrub.....Not going to lie, this was my favorite thing in the box and I wish they had given me that as a full size and the lotion as a sample. When you rub the scrub into your skin it created an immediate warming sensation which is great for me, seeing as I spend a lot of time on my feet as a server. The lotion was eh. I've had other foot lotions and this one seemed a little thinner and the smell was a mixture of mint and chemicals.
Now onto the polishes. The packaging is super cute on these. I was excited to get these puppies opened and try them out. AS you can see from the video below, I was not happy with the consistency of these polishes. It was watery! i opened one and literally it dribbled out of the bottle and onto my hand, and rubbed off fairly easy. i decided to give it a try anyways and applied it to my toes. It literally took about 3 or 4 coats to not be see through. Eventually I gave up and put the Oscar polish as a clear coat over my big toes. Also the smell! I can normally paint my nails with ZERO complaints from the Grump, not this time.
All In all, This polish reminded me of kids polish. I do NOT plan on keeping this subscription, I didn't find that I was getting a great value for 19.99 a month. You are more than welcome to try for yourself

Influenster/Ipsy/Ducklings

So much going on! I've recently joined Influenster! I am a little peeved that my score has not moved since I joined, but a quick look at their FAQ told me that it can take 1-3 weeks for an accurate score. They will send out boxes based on certain scores in certain subjects to have you test them and review them :) IPSY!!! finally being shipped this week, I know it's normally shipped around the 10th, it's the shipping that kills me. It takes 10 days to get from NC to FL. If they ever get rid of DHL I will be the happiest girl on earth lol And lastly WE HAVE DUCKLINGS!! We found a mama Muscovy duck (Della) at work and began feeding her so she didn't have to leave her eggs very often and this morning they are all hatched. Mama isn't as nice as before and is back to hissing at us (she hasn't done that in awhile) but i of course understand, she needs to protect her babies. The other mama duck (Stella) is still laying on her eggs and we expect to have more ducklings walking around before long!

Ipsy July 2013

It's official! I'm in love! In may I spent some time deciding if I wanted to join one of the many subscription box services. I spent countless time watching unboxing videos on YouTube, reading reviews, and talking to my friends. Finally I decided to give Ipsy a try. For those of you not familiar with Ipsy, it is a monthly subscription service that includes deluxe samples or full size make up products in a cute new make up bag each month. For $10 you really can't beat it. My first bag (June) had all full sized products and was valued at over $60. July was no slouch either, containing mostly deluxe samples but still worth way over the $10 purchase price. My personal bag contained: a deluxe sample of Benetint (which i adore as a lip stain, not so much as a cheek stain) Pop Beauty Lip crayon in Fuschia Flirt (not a great color for my skin tone but still a full size product) Healthy Sexy hair Soy Salt Spray (a little bit goes a long way, it definitely works but if you use too much you end up with straw hair) BH Cosmetics eye sample palette (I love the color San Francisco, not overly pigmented but with a primer work well) and Coola Tinted Rose Moisturizer (I am going to be heartbroken when my sample is finished, evened out my skin tone and made my skin soft) I highly recommend this service for girls like me who prefer high end makeup, but don't have the high end bank account to pay for it. to Join IPSY
